Last September I headed over to Italy to document Daniela & Remo’s wedding day near their home town of Terracina, just a few hours south of Rome. The wedding took place at Abbazia di Fossanova, an amazing Cistercian monastery built around 1135.
My dear friend Kelly Tunney was in the neighborhood (England) the week prior so with a little tempting with a few days in Venice and surviving the crazy drive out of Rome to Terracina (mostly thanks to her great navigating skills), she helped second shoot this wedding with me. The hospitality that Daniela & Remo showed us was amazing.. we have never been so well looked after (and fed!) in our lives. I had to go on a 3 day juice detox when I got back to New York to recover 🙂
I have photographed many Italian weddings in Australia.. but this took my idea of what an Italian wedding was to a whole new level… a 7 course dinner, many many many toasts, a crazy amount of dancing and a toilet paper covered get away car 🙂
