Iceland Adventures

spilling through
car windows
bowing out songs
that sound like symphonies.
Lake water dripping
off of your
curly hair
I tried to trace
into constellations.
Canus Major
And a thousand others
I have not yet named.

In July I travled to Iceland with my boyfriend. A first real holiday I have been on in years with no agenda but to completely disconnect from the world for a week.

We hired a campervan and with a cooler box of food and a map, with no plan, we drove aimlessly and got lost in the best possible ways. We hiked along the cliffs at two in the morning, watched puffins build nests, bathed in hot springs, ate a lot of cheese and bread, built our own cairn on top of a mountain that felt like we were on the moon, walked through an endless black earth and discovered remote little cabins in the middle of nowhere that we dreamt about moving to.

We barely spoke to another soul our entire time there. The best adventure I have ever been on. Excited I am going back this September to photograph a wedding and explore this beautiful country a lot more.
